WORKING GROUPS

The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) and the Iowa Department of Transportation have been tasked with preparing a state energy plan to set priorities and provide strategic guidance on Iowa’s energy future. Working groups are being formed around each pillar. Four pillars have been identified as integral to developing the energy plan.

  • Economic development and energy careers
  • Iowa’s energy resources
  • Transportation and infrastructure
  • Energy efficiency and conservation

Why apply to be part of a working group?
Working groups are being formed to provide input, review the energy data and policy assessments, and to shape the goals and strategies of the energy plan. In a rapidly evolving energy market, Iowa has been a leader and is poised to provide a foundation for the nation. As a working group member, you have the opportunity to share your energy expertise and be a part of shaping Iowa’s energy future. Apply now.

Making a Commitment to a Working Group Means:

  • Participating in the initial face-to-face working group charter meeting in a geographically central location.
  • Actively participating in monthly working group calls.
  • Providing input on the data and policy assessments for the energy plan.
  • Providing input on the energy plan goals.

Other ways to participate

Woman speaking during workgroup sessionIf you do not participate in a working group, you can still participate in the planning process through the public forums or by providing written input.

As we move through the process, additional areas or industry sectors might be identified that need to be analyzed and vetted. You may be asked to participate in one of these subtopic groups. These subtopic groups are expected to be smaller and to convene for a shorter time. At this time, it is unknown how many or what subtopic groups may be formed.
